Community Day Services
This program is uniquely designed to provide services to those individuals
for whom paid employment is not desired or appropriate. The program has an
emphasis on social, leisure and recreational skills, involves community
integration activities and supports individuals in building and
maintaining their ADL skills. Examples of the types of activities offered
at this program include:
 | Arts and Crafts |
 | Music and Movement |
 | Movies |
 | Horticulture |
 | Community outings (bowling, picnics, shopping,
etc.) |
 | and many more. |
Valley Furniture & Crafts
This program site is also the location of a small retail store owned by
VEA. This store retails unfinished bookcases manufactured at Valley
Bookcases and displays and sells various wooden and craft items from local
crafters and consigners. Participants in this program have the
opportunity to learn basic tasks associated with working in a retail store
and also experience the benefit of customer contact.
Clinical Supports
Individuals receive clinical support from a
Ph.D. level licensed psychologist who works with the VEA staff within this
program. The team works with the individual with the aim of increasing
participation in activities and social skills while decreasing interfering
behaviors.
